From the President‘s Desk…

As we’re all aware, the Coronavirus outbreak and the “Shelter in Place” orders that we now find ourselves in has been a big adjustment. The most important actions we can take are to stay safe, protect ourselves, our loved ones and our communities. This ever-changing state of affairs has prompted all of us to do things differently, the SFBS included.  Toward this changed future, we are exploring exciting new ways to deliver training and opportunities to network among our esteemed CWEA Water/Wastewater peers.  We’re hard at work developing specifically tailored content and updated information that will be coming very soon,  please check the Bay Section’s Events page (  for the latest details!

In support of our training mission, CWEA leadership is shifting live events that were planned through this Fiscal Year 19-20 to webinars and exploring setting up online workshops to replace the live events that we have had to cancel. For those working from home or remote office, you can still access training and get Contact Hour credits. As we make our way through this crisis, these changes may affect the entirety or some portion thereof 2020, we’ll just have to wait and see.  We’re still hopeful and optimistic that our rescheduled Annual Conference for 2020 will go as planned in October.

Business goes on and we’re still always looking at recruiting people for our committees and specifically in the SFBS we’re actively seeking Laboratory Analysts and other Lab-related professionals to share their experience and knowledge. If you are interested in being part of our group of dedicated volunteer members or just want to make sure your voice is heard, please contact the SFBS Board of Directors at

Finally, I’d like to give a very special thanks to those of us who must still work in harm’s way despite the pandemic and especially those courageous folks in our Healthcare industry.

Take Care,

Dennis Lambert
SFBS – President
