Horizontal Levee – The Future of our Bay Area Shoreline?

Come hear about the leading alternative to address sea rise in the SF Bay Area and its potential role in improving water quality in the Bay. This presentation will also include results from the first three years of UC Berkeley led research on the Horizontal levee’s
capacity to treat nutrients and contaminants of emerging concern.

Jason Warner, General Manager/Treasurer

Jason Warner served as the General Manager of the Oro Loma Sanitary District since 2008. During this time, the District has achieved energy neutrality from renewable sources, achieved 12 years of continuous NPDES compliance and 3 years of zero sewer overflows, increased its pipe replacement program to 1.5% of system assets/year, and piloted several innovative nutrient treatment processes. The District was recently awarded the SF Bay Institute’s – Bay Hero Award for the District’s work on the Horizontal Levee Demonstration Project. Before joining Oro Loma, Jason worked in various engineering roles with Delta Diablo. Jason has a BS in Civil Engineering from UC Davis and a Master’s in Public Administration from Cal State East Bay.
